Queensland Rail offers an array of development programs internally and externally from leadership programs to technical-specific programs. I'm currently undertaking a master's degree in my field to further my development - courtesy of Queensland Rail's investing in people strategy.

We have some really good internal leadership training courses and various other online training modules for skills like risk management and using SAP. We also have an RTO to get certification. My team supports our development and has paid for our training for certain programs we use such as Power BI, Power Apps, Tableau as well as Lean Six Sigma.

Everything I have done is on the job training which I think is really poor. Railway signalling is very niche and I think there should be more formal training/courses for people joining the company.
