Gender Equality at SW Accountants & Advisors

In 2012 it was recognised that women were not well represented at senior levels within our firm and that needed to change. It was clear that SW needed to be proactive in addressing its gender diversity in the workplace increasing the proportion of women in partnership.

33% of SW Board members elected to the Executive Board are women
22% of our partnership are women
47% of our senior leadership group (Associate Directors and Senior Managers) are women
52% of our current 2021 Graduate cohort is female
50.5% of SW staff are female.

During the mental health quarter, SW employees are actively involved in Liptember and Movember and the Firm have been supporting them for the past three years.

Another key initiative SW are proud to support is Fitted for Work (FFW). FFW helps women experiencing adversity break through barriers to get and keep work. We have a comprehensive engagement plan with FFW that incorporates:

A 6 month Mentorship Program for women undertaking their Diplomas
Offering work placement and secondment opportunities that can lead to full time or part time employment
Assistance with resume writing, interview skills and basic business engagement skills
Clothing drives for corporate and business attire. These social benefits and impacts are wide reaching, as many women are primary caregivers that drive a more socially cohesive and prosperous society.

Having an open-door policy is a really refreshing experience and means never being afraid to talk to those senior to you. I also enjoy getting meaningful work and being able to directly apply my training and skills on the job.
