NWRH is currently looking for Speech Pathologists to join their teams in Mount Isa and Longreach on a full-time basis.

Working as part of a supportive, diverse and multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive assessments and implement custom programs for your clients in your town and neighbouring communities, to treat and manage speech, language, learning and communication disorders.

A typical day will include:

  • Administering standardised and informal tests and observing clients to determine the nature and extent of their communication disorders or swallowing difficulties;
  • Providing treatment and management of speech, language, learning and communication disorders that may be developmental, part of a disability, or acquired as a result of injury or disease; and
  • Delivering family centred early childhood intervention strategies.

Helping those who may not otherwise receive healthcare and support, you'll get to see the real difference your work makes in their lives, allowing clients to live and receive treatment locally.

Candidates from all experience levels are encouraged to apply, provided you are currently registered, or eligible to obtain registration with AHPRA and Speech Pathology Australia. This includes recent graduates and students in their final year of studies who are looking for a role to step into after graduation. Whilst practical experience isn't essential, if you're applying as a graduate, you will need to bring with you a genuine desire to lean - from your team, external mentors, and the communities themselves.

It won't always be easy - the NWRH team often work in rural and remote communities and cover a lot of distance, as one of the only organisations in the area providing these services.

In return for your hard work and dedication, you'll receive an attractive salary package starting at $88,680 for a Graduate, and up to $112,640 for an experienced Speech Pathologist, PLUS a range of additional benefits, including:

  • Up to $15,900 salary sacrificing;
  • Annual leave loading of 17.5%;
  • 5 weeks annual leave; and
  • Relocation and accommodation assistance!
