My role has a healthy mix of desk work and in-field action. I can take the tool to building sites and witness them being put to the test. If there is a problem, I can personally strip the tool apart and put my mind to work to try to understand the issue.

Embrace every opportunity – There are so many clubs, networking events and workshops available at universities. Additionally, get involved with industry associations and their events. Having a network of people within the industry that you want to work in is extremely beneficial.

I have been involved in three vastly different roles and divisions over the course of this program. Having one more rotation left in my program, I am very excited to see where I will be placed next.

While presenting to management is incredibly nerve-racking – hearing the feedback from our Group President and other influential people in our business is the highlight of the program, not many people get face time with the GP but we are able to take on feedback and be inspired by leaders in their element.
