About the Internships:

The Australian Network on Disability (AND) is offering students with disability the opportunity to participate in a diverse range of internships offered across a range of industries in both the public and private sector. Internships are available for students studying within disciplines of Finance, Law, Social Sciences, IT, Science, Engineering, Communication and many more.

Internships generally last four to eight weeks (with the opportunity for flexible work hours to manage your disability or other commitments).

Am I eligible?

  • Stage of study: final or second last year of university
  • Discipline of Study: All are encouraged to apply
  • Citizenship status: Australia Citizen, Permanent Resident or International student with full working rights in Australia

What is 'Disability'?

We accept applications from students with all types of disability, ongoing medical condition, chronic illness and mental health condition.

How do I apply?

Applications must be submitted via the Australian Network on Disability website. Before applying, please make sure you have the following documents ready to submit:

  • University transcript
  • Proof of eligibility (Disability Access Plan or relevant medical documentation)

Applications close midnight 10th April 2022 (Sunday).

There is no limitation on how many you can apply or participate in the program. We are happy to reconsider previous applicants of the Stepping Into program. Contact us on 1300 36 36 45 or email applications@and.org.au to request your previous application be copied. Please review the positions available and submit at least three position preferences to applications@and.org.au.

Information Sessions

Over the coming weeks, we will be facilitating information sessions online.

The sessions will offer an overview of the Stepping Into program. The Australian Network on Disability team will talk about how the program works, what the application process is like, and answer any questions you have about Stepping Into.
