Your role:

This is so much more than your usual Chef role. Navy offer good working conditions and better pay than most civilian chef jobs.

Teamwork is an essential part of the role. You'll work in a tight-knit team where everyone has each other's backs. There are also many opportunities for career growth and travel, including the chance to diversify your cooking skills by taking additional courses in subjects like cheesemaking and baking.

Some of your jobs as a Chef will include:

  • Compiling food orders,
  • Managing the food budget,
  • Calculating the amount and type of food needed,
  • Operation of kitchen equipment,
  • Planning the menu,
  • Preparing, cooking and serving a variety of food.

Salary:

Be paid to train and learn the skills required to become a qualified Chef. Upon completion of your initial military and initial employment training, you'll enjoy a competitive starting salary package of up to: $78,108 including service and uniform allowances, as well as a Maritime Allowance (if applicable).

In addition to your salary, you will receive generous superannuation, housing subsidies and free medical and dental.
