A Commando is a Special Forces soldier who is screened, selected, trained and equipped to conduct Special Operations with a broad range of responsibilities.
In this role, you'll perform tasks distinct to Commando units, which may include precision strike and direct action missions, reconnaissance and special recovery operations. You'll also support Defence domestic activities, with the potential to deploy overseas for exercises or operations.
You'll be trained to use specialist weapons, equipment and tactics, and develop skills in adrenaline-pumping activities such as driving, parachuting, roping, helicopter extraction, demolition and use of heavy weapons. You'll acquire advanced survival skills and the ability to carry out high risk missions anywhere in the world.
