Your role

As a Graduate Software Engineer, you will be working in the Avionics business unit. You could work on exciting training and simulation projects for the Australian Defence Force. On any day, you could be doing the following:

  • Undertaking assigned tasks in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle; Software requirements management, software solution orientation, software design, implementation, integration, and testing.
  • Implementing software designs in C, C++, and/or other languages and technologies as required, utilizing tools provided by a Software Development Environment.
  • Assisting with developing and maintaining the Software Development Environment (SDE) for a project including the maintenance of Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools. 
  • Adhering to Software Configuration Management processes at departmental and project levels.
  • Participating in code inspections, design reviews, and lessons learned reviews as required.

About you

Requirements:

  • Recent high-level degree qualified in Software, Computer Science, and Mechatronics Engineering with a minimum credit average, or be in the final year of completing for graduation end of 2023
  • Experience in one or more high-level programming languages such as C, C++, Python
  • You are a natural leader and this shows through part-time work or extra-curricular activities whilst studying university
  • You easily build relationships and have strong communication skills - both written and verbal
  • You love working in a team environment and value diversity
  • You are curious by nature, focused on the result, and love to keep continuously learning!
