Your role

The Above Water Systems team offers design services for both commercial and naval ships. Their expertise extends beyond design, encompassing in-service support capabilities as well. The team takes pride in strengthening Australia's sovereign capability through operational support provided to the Navy. With a team exceeding 500 and a commitment to ongoing training programs, they empower their employees to develop their careers while making a significant contribution to Australia's Defence.

Located centrally on Gadigal land at Woolloomooloo's Garden Island, this team offers a unique work environment. Employees have the privilege of witnessing their designs come to life on a vast array of vessels.

Some daily tasks you can expect to do are:

• Engineering analysis on naval platforms (onboard and offboard)
• The preparation of detailed designs, specifications and material requirements  
• Gain exposure to a variety of electrical engineering including power engineering and control systems

About you

What they value most from graduates is a willingness to learn and the confidence to offer solutions, however, the below will also come in handy:

• Recently degree qualified in Electrical Engineering
• A true desire to work in a diverse team towards a common goal
• Leadership experience demonstrated through previous employment or extra-curricular activities whilst studying at university
• Australian Citizenship to be eligible for security clearance
