Your role

This is a unique opportunity to join the Guided Weapons, Space and Hypersonics program established in Thales’ Australian Munitions business. What does this mean? Think rockets, missiles and space weapons! The cool thing is you will gain first-hand exposure to see how they design, develop and test their latest tech!

Their graduate program at Mulwala is rotational. Across the course of the first year you will complete rotations around the following:   

  • Understanding the site: production, engineering principles and R&D
  • Designation to a project – for example, you could be working on a rocket motor!
  • Getting to know their Corporate functions
  • The second year is designed to develop your expertise as an Engineer

Career progression

Starting in February each year and spanning two years in duration, the Graduate Program consists of a variety of learning modules in different locations nationally. These are structured training modules, as well as self-directed learning activities, and on-the-job training; giving you exposure to all the different areas of the business.  

As part of the graduate development program, graduates will also have the opportunity to work in project teams and develop innovative solutions for business and customer-related problems. The graduate program at Thales will see its graduates travel to various Thales Group Australia sites for the development modules.

About you

Here’s what they are looking for in this role:

  • You must be willing to relocate to Mulwala (for at least a year), generous support and relocation provided
  • Recently degree qualified in Chemical, Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or be in the final year of completing for graduation end of 2022
  • You are a natural leader and this shows through part-time work or extra-curricular activities whilst studying university
  • You easily build relationships and have strong communications skills both written and verbal
  • You love working in a team environment and value diversity
  • You are curious by nature, focused on the result and love to keep continuously learning!
