Your role

As part of Thales' Avionics group, you will join our high-performing Training and Simulation team which delivers both simulation products and training services to Defence and Civil customers in Australia. The role of Junior Simulator Technician will see you working closely, gaining experience, and collaborating with Simulator Technicians to operate and maintain the multiple state-of-the-art technology synthetic training devices and simulators present within the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Play a hands-on role in maintaining and operating the EC135 Full Flight Simulators, Desktop Tactical Task Trainers, Tactical Part Task Trainers, Virtual Reality Trainers, and Marshalling Virtual Realty Trainer, meet contracted availability requirements under the direction of the Senior Simulator Technicians,
  • Maintain the HATS ICT Network
  • Maintain tools and test equipment, and ensure equipment is in calibration
  • Maintain records and related documentation to relevant standards,
  • Continue to maintain strong customer relationships and ensure the highest levels of service delivery,
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with relevant standards and processes,
  • Proactively identifying issues and solutions, keeping the Lead Maintenance Technician informed of progress.

About you

Here’s what we are looking for in this role:

  • Certificate or tertiary qualifications in (Avionics, Electronics, Computer IT, or similar fields)
  • Well-developed team and communication skills with the confidence to liaise with varied stakeholders
  • The ability to problem-solving and provide technical solutions
  • Must be able to work on a shift pattern that includes Early Morning, Afternoon, and Late Shifts
  • Must hold a current Drivers Licence.
  • Be eligible for Australian Defence Security Clearance

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in a technical workshop or maintenance environment
  • Experience with ICT hardware and networking
  • Experience with simulation projects
  • Experience within the aviation industry
