Your role

Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager, the role of a Commercial Sales Professional (Graduate) is an integral part of the Siemens Smart Infrastructure Sales team and will assume responsibility for all commercial aspects of customer proposals, tenders and quotations that relate to the portfolio of products within the Smart Infrastructure. The successful applicant will join our existing Commercial Sales team at our Bayswater offices in Melbourne. You will enjoy being part of a busy sales environment and be in a position to apply your experience in value selling our systems, solutions and services across a range of industry verticals. As a Graduate, you will be given the opportunity to undertake different activities to ensure you have a obtain a full understanding of the business 

Your responsibilities: 

  • Undertake contract negotiations with customers.
  • Ensure that contract negotiations are successfully completed within agreed parameters for pricing and contractual risk profiles, and are in line with the company’s strategies and policies.
  • Provide commercial, financial and contractual advice for offers and tenders, including price calculations, terms and conditions, cash flow, risk assessments, etc.
  • Interfacing and close collaboration with stakeholders such as in-house legal counsel, tendering team, sales executives, procurement managers, and senior management, as well as the company-wide sales commercial team
  • Coordination of Internal approval process for Local Country management, European Headquarters, etc.

About you

To be qualified, you must: 

  • Have an understanding of a legal, commercial/business administration and/or contract negotiation environment.
  • Have the capability to present and communicate the Siemens commercial position to customers, via face-to-face meetings and indirectly via other communication methods.
  • Able to operate comfortably within complex corporate guidelines whilst remaining customer-focused.
  • You will be confident in working on projects of varying amounts (typically $500k to $10mill) and across various contract structures (Supply only, Supply and Installation, Longer Term Period Contracts, and Long-Term Service Agreements).
  • Having experience in the Energy sector will be highly regarded though not essential.
