Your role

They are seeking a journalist in their Canberra hub to learn everything about the business. They are seeking a reporter who is a self-starter and strong writer who is prepared to learn their craft amongst some of the best newsroom leaders in the business.

This role demands news gathering, writing, interviewing, and presenting skills. The extra skills you learn and develop with them will give you the experience you need to take your career into a bigger newsroom.

You'll be:

  • Generating original daily story ideas for on-air and online presentations
  • Interviewing, writing and voicing skills
  • Developing and maintaining contacts in the community
  • Research and prepare news reports, whether in the field or in the office
  • Finding and Writing feature stories in specific categories
  • Create an effective and respectful rapport with internal and external stakeholders
