Sustainability at Optus

There are bins specifically to collect coffee liquid, cups etc. we also have three types of bins - organic, recycling and general waste.

We have multiple full time staff who work on sustainability initiatives

There is a dedicated sustainability team who release a yearly report about their renewable energy targets and reducing their scope 1,2,3 commissions

Optus is a big user of power, and this is a big environmental and monetary cost. many people, including myself have worked on projects to reduce optus' carbon footprint.

Overall we do have volunteers leave and certain goals/commitments/projects but i personally don't feel like we see enough of it. telecommunications use a lot of electricity and i would like to see what we are doing for the environment.

We've made efforts to reduce our carbon impact but I think we could work faster on our goals. In a world where consumers purchase with their conscience as well as their wallet, I think this is something we shouldn't be dragging our feet on.
