About TV Content & Product Development
At Optus, we're more than just a telco. We're providing exclusive premium entertainment and content across a range of platforms. Whether you're at home or on the go, you can catch up on the latest TV shows and movies, get closer to the games and players you love with Optus Sport or be the first with tunes on your favourite streaming service. Working within Product Development and TV & Content, you may be involved in areas of work spanning marketing and revenue, new product development, business delivery, content streaming, and brand development.
We're looking for recent graduates who have ideally studied the following disciplines/fields: Marketing, Commerce, Communications, Data Analytics, Broadcasting, Media, Technology or any related degree.
About the 2022 Graduate Program
Our Optus Graduate Program focuses on career growth, and the best part of this program is having the support of everyone around you. You don't have to know everything; we're all one big family looking at how we can create solutions together. From developing your experience across the business and being exposed to a diverse range of people, environments, and situations; we also provide supportive peer-to-peer learning/coaching, mentoring, training, and networking support from leaders across Optus. The opportunities are endless!
As part of our 2022 Optus Graduate Program, you will be participating in:
- A two-year program consisting of three, eight-month rotations within your specific Business Unit.
- Opportunities to challenge yourself and ensure you contribute in making an impact to the business from day one!
- Fun and rewarding experiences that will accelerate your personal and professional development; building a platform to encourage fulfilling your interests and goals.
- On-the-job training and working at our Optus Campus Sydney in Macquarie Park.
- Supportive transition into a role which best suits your capabilities/interests at the end of your time in the Graduate Program.

To be eligible for our 2022 Optus Graduate Program:
- You must be an Australian/New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- You must be a recent University Graduate within the last three years (2019, 2020 2021).
- Maintain minimum credit average.
- Graduates with a keen interest in exploring a career within the Optus Enterprise team.
- Customer-focused individuals who rise to the challenge and embody a 'Yes' attitude.
- You will need to be a team player and have a willingness to succeed and learn.

Pros and cons of working at Optus
Pros
I love the culture and support my current team provides me. I am always learning or doing something on the job, and the vibes are always good.
Supportive environment and working with people who are hardworking/passionate about their craft. Plenty of opportunities for career growth.
Flexible hours e.g. 9am-5pm or 8am-4pm (discussed with your manager).
Diversity is greatly celebrated at Optus. I have had some fantastic opportunities through the Express Yourself Network (LGBTQIA+) as well as support from the Disability Network.
Most of the colleagues are open minded and welcome to questions. As a new grad I can ask for coffee chat from different people and learn a lot from them.
Cons
The processes/technology not being up to date.
Structure of the graduate program has also had some issues. It felt like they proposed or had a lot of structure, but there actually was not much to back it up.
Some unrealistic expectations may lead to late night work and pressure.
More support and structure around the rotations to other teams.
Currently tech grads have 2x 1 year rotations, which limits the breadth of growth and exposure that's possible for a grad to achieve. Moving to 3x 8 month rotations would make a world of difference.
