As you complete the modules you will unlock model answers, allowing you to assess your performance in real time. This Virtual Experience is a great way of seeing if the Graduate Systems Engineering role is a good fit for you. The program is free, and can be completed in your own time, from anywhere!

As a Graduate Engineer at Nova Systems you will be provided with the experience, supervision, mentoring and training necessary to make a meaningful contribution to Nova and determine your own pathway. Whether it be working on the Next Generation Armoured Fighting Vehicles in the Maritime and Land Stream, or completing Safety Assurance work for the Triton Remotely Piloted Aircraft System in the Air, Information & Space Stream, Nova Systems provides an award-winning Graduate Program to grow the skills of our staff and solve complex challenges in Defence and Essential Services

What you’ll learn

In this virtual experience, you will be working on a Capability Development project for a hypothetical submarine program. There are 3 modules in total that will allow you to work through the concept stage of the development cycle. As the graduate engineer on the project, your tasks will include:

  • Examining emails and documents to familiarise yourself with the project
  • Determining who is involved and what their roles and needs are
  • Develop a set of realistic operational scenarios for the capability
  • Develop a set of requirements for the capability
  • Produce a functional breakdown structure

These tasks will include drawing diagrams, charts, tables and more..
