Your role

The Opportunity

To assist the team in the delivery of Investment Operations services (Reconciliations) to assigned clients/functional teams within agreed quality, timing, and output targets.

What you’ll do?

  • Preparing reconciliation packs for a variety of clients/funds (traditional & hedge funds) across different geographical locations.
  • Perform the fund’s activities correctly as per the SOP.
  • Adhere to defined process KPIs and PLAs.
  • Should be accountable for all the reconciliation-related activities falling within the scope of the Markets & Securities Services Reconciliation team.
  • Support department initiatives, regulatory, compliance and reduce risk.
  • NIL BP Complaints.
  • Be flexible to adapt to different working environments/ time zones with counterparts across the globe.
  • On the regulatory & legislative front should be aware of FATCA / Dodd Frank / Volker / AIFMD / UCITS / DPA and comply with the same.
  • Perform any additional responsibilities that may be required by the manager in support of specific projects, ongoing management, and development of the process.

About you

Requirements:

What you’ll need to succeed in the role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other qualifications relevant to the accounting/finance industry.
  • 0-2 years of relevant/accounting work experience.
  • Good knowledge of Capital Markets and Financial instruments.
  • Basic knowledge of end-to-end products and processes, multiple markets, and regulations.
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles, and fundamentals of Accounting.
  • Proficiency in EXCEL essential.
  • Ability to Speak and understand English.
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to re-prioritize workloads due to changing circumstances; meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent knowledge of the reconciliations process with a clear understanding of the E2E Fund Accounting Model.
  • Must be aware of the operational risk scenarios associated with this role and act upon pertinent risk (if any).
  • CA/ ICWA/ CS / PGDBM/MBA in Finance or CFA (D)
  •  Will be expected to maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of  internal and   external audit points, together with any issues raised by external regulators

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Knowledge of Derivatives Instruments
  • Expert in Accounting Knowledge
  • Earlier experience in custody/brokerage/funds services/depository industry.
  • Detailed understanding of end-to-end products and processes, multiple markets, and regulations pertaining to the fund services industry.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg / Reuters, other reconciliation, and accounting applications used across the industry.
  • Life cycle of NAV process.
  • Additional qualifications related to the financial industry will be given preference.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the Group Compliance Policy as applicable to this role.
  • Must be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with this role and ensure that all actions performed take into account the likelihood of the operational risk occurring.
