Job Description

Glencore Coal Assets Australia Vacation Employment Program is recruiting  now and we are seeking enthusiastic tertiary students who would like an amazing opportunity to build relationships and learn from industry experts in your chosen field. We are seeking dedicated students who demonstrate resourcefulness and innovation and are excited to accept the challenge of living and working in regional locations.

Vacation Employment Program

Our program provides 12 weeks of paid on-the-job work experience during your university vacation period. It allows you to implement your theoretical knowledge in a practical environment, whilst offering you a pathway towards your mining career. Vacation employment opportunities exist in a number of disciplines, and applicants will be required to commit for the duration of the program.

About you:

You will be studying a Bachelor of Surveying, Spatial Science or similar.

Locations - Glencore Coal

Positions are available in our Glencore Coal Assets business across New South Wales and Queensland, based regionally on our mine sites. For NSW, this means being based in the mid-Hunter Valley or Mudgee areas whilst in QLD, mine sites are located in the wider Emerald and Mackay regions. 

The roles are residential and you will be expected to relocate to the local area for the duration of the 12-week program. Accommodation is provided as part of the package if required to relocate for the program.

Dates & Eligibility

The Glencore Coal Assets Vacation Program will commence on site on Monday 27th November 2024 and finish on Friday 16th February 2025.

You must be currently enrolled in full-time studies at University. Whilst priority will be given to second and third-year undergraduate students studying the relevant discipline, students who will have completed at least one full year of study by the end of the year are eligible to apply.

Our Vacation Program is designed to give you a real taste of an exciting future. Every year we host a significant number of university students during the Summer university break.
