Site Engineer - standard workload

The work is interesting and I enjoy having exposure to a project on this scale.

My role as a graduate engineer is to be a hand held site engineer. My day to day responsibilities include onsite testing, subcontractor management and project planning.

Exciting days and given meaningful responsibilities.

In my current project (Turitea Wind Farm) I am part of the structures team, responsible for getting a turbine foundation concrete pour completed, from the stage of excavation completion. I overlook and assist to ensure the correct processes take place in a way that ensures quality and all the documents that go with it. Also, I help logistical aspects on site such as deliveries, organise inspections along with the project engineer and communicate to our subcontractors. At the moment, I feel some of the logistical responsibilities such as steel reinforcement stock take is not a beneficial use of my time and of course the civil nature of the project, I am excited to move into a mechanical project in the near future.

I have just begun a new role, and am enjoying an increased technical challenge. I also am learning how to use some new software that I haven't been exposed to before which is both fun and interesting.

I have been surprised by the level of responsibility that I have been given so far. This has allowed me to grow as a young engineer but also feel supported.

Doing the crew DJR, providing survey points for sheet pile lines and heights for dig out, soil testing, instructing crew on back fill and improvement layers, method statements etc...

Working with the mined tunnels team has helped me to gain a huge amount of experience in the engineering field. Staying on longer has helped me to get more involved with the team and play the role of a site engineer

I'm a first-year graduate engineer working on the Downer Asset Management and Services team delivering the C3 package for the Auckland City Rail Link project. Day-to-day responsibilities include attending meetings, writing formal documents and undergoing design reviews.

Currently working on a major infrastructure project undertaking site engineering responsibilities. These include quality assurance, construction supervision, liaising with stakeholders and consultants, planning works, resource management, and identifying issues on site and proposing remedial actions.

Varies. Work is overall satisfactory.
