Downer has internal groups to support diversity. The Diversity and Inclusion groups also coming. There are pockets of support for these groups, you just have to find them.

Got groups within DNZ such as the woman in engineering group which show commitment and often do Maori leadership courses and training

Different development programs for different backgrounds, focusing on different roles.

Downer provides financial support along with a support network allowing those who are less privileged to travel and pursue their career. Downer also provides guidance through buddy and mentor programmes so that new starters feel they are part of the Downer community

At the YP conference I met people from all walks of life. Many were very grateful for their opportunity in the cadetship programme. This showed me that Downer makes an effort to recruit from a variety of backgrounds.

I have noticed that the Link Alliance has welcomed a few school kids from low decile school and given site visits and work experience. this is very heart warming to see our low decile schools receive such awesome opportunities
