Its pushed especially hard at Downer

Downer has internal groups to support diversity. The Diversity and Inclusion groups also coming. There are pockets of support for these groups, you just have to find them.

Women are encouraged to apply and be developed in the company. No maternity leave as far as I am aware.

Diversity for the sake of diversity is patronising, it is nice to choose from diverse talent for their talent

The communication sent around the company is very pro diversity etc.

Our company hires every ethnicity and gender, from what I've seen, and it makes it such a good place to be a part of, as we are able to connect with people all around the world

From my desk where I am currently sitting I can see a very diverse group of people, all working together to complete various tasks. I definitely think diversity is encouraged and present within the company.

It's cool to see the groups that are within Downer and how much downer supports diversity.

Got groups within DNZ such as the woman in engineering group which show commitment and often do Maori leadership courses and training

There are quite a bit of women in the office, which is nice to see. The Link Alliance has down an amazing job with embracing the M?ori culture.

Downer has a zero harm policy so the company is very respectful of all applicants that apply and respects all genders, cultures, LGBT employees.

I think that Downer does a good job of encouraging diversity through internal groups and events.

I believe there a programmes operating in low decile schools to attract them to apply.

Downer provides financial support along with a support network allowing those who are less privileged to travel and pursue their career. Downer also provides guidance through buddy and mentor programmes so that new starters feel they are part of the Downer community

At the YP conference I met people from all walks of life. Many were very grateful for their opportunity in the cadetship programme. This showed me that Downer makes an effort to recruit from a variety of backgrounds.

I was able to be apart of talking to teenagers from schools all around the Palmerston north about career opportunities within Downer at the technical engineering conference.

I have noticed that the Link Alliance has welcomed a few school kids from low decile school and given site visits and work experience. this is very heart warming to see our low decile schools receive such awesome opportunities
