This year, we are offering three types of Downer Scholarships. The scholarships are available to students who are studying towards a Washington Accord recognised Engineering Degree and have a strong interest in the world of contracting.

When awarding our scholarships, we are looking for individuals whom display and demonstrate our values through their achievements and aspirations.
Applicable Study:
This year we will awarding scholarships to students currently in their 3rd Year of a BE (Hons) programme. Eligible candidates should be in Part III of BE (Hons) in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
These scholarships will be awarded or a duration of one year and funds will be paid in one payment at the start of Jan ’25.

Dependent on applications, scholarships may be awarded for the following:
AF Downer Premier Scholarship $12,000
This is our top scholarship award. We are looking for a future leader who has strong academic results, and has taken on a leadership role within their community or through extra-curricular activities at their University.
2 x Downer scholarships - (supported by the AF Downer Trust) - $5,000
We are looking for undergraduates who align with our values, passionate about engineering, and excited about exploring the world of contracting.
The Graham Brown Memorial Scholarship (Joint Scholarship with Waka Kotahi) - $5,000
Graham Brown (1945-2012) was a highly skilled technical driller with a passion for his work. He was also a family man, a role model to others and has truly lived by his values. This scholarship honours Graham’s contribution to our business and wider civil infrastructure community by furthering the education of a student. We are looking for an undergraduate who aligns with our values and is passionate about engineering.
