The day-to-day responsibilities vary depending on the work coming in. I very much favour busy times where I am given more responsibility and where it feels my contributions are more valuable. Overall, I have very much felt part of a team and have been extremely engaged and satisfied.

Preparing briefs, minutes and summaries; research and analysis; meeting with internal and external stakeholders; formulating research projects.

Policy research and writing

I undertake a few roles during my graduate year. At Enterprise Architecture Office, I create high-level overview of business processes and enterprise architecture models. At Business Intelligence Team, I am responsible for the rollout of enterprise-wide business intelligence software and a few other administration work such as mailbox monitoring.

Stakeholder management, writing briefs and ministerials

As a policy officer my day-to-day responsibilities include research and analysis, stakeholder engagement and media monitoring.

At the moment I'm in a Machinery of Government task force which makes for very interesting and diverse work .

Case law research, drafting legal advice and contributing to legislative developments

I joined the Dept to be a software developer. At first I was not doing this work but after speaking with managers I was moved into a developer position.

Policy work Briefing Research

My responsibilities include researching topics in preparation for drafting briefs and papers. I have also assisted in the monitoring and review of the Department's programmes.

It is varied, but involves monitoring case law and media, provision of legal advice and involvement in the drafting of legislation.
