Provide a very large budget for formal training courses as well as many internal free courses. 5 year graduate program acts as sort of long term training course as graduates must meet a matrix of experience / criteria to graduate. Great culture for continuous learning, supervisor almost always supports any training opportunity / idea.

The training budget for graduates is quite generous allowing for attending any training you may want to in a year. The internal training is targeted and allows development in specific business areas. For example, the Heat Exchanger SME (Subject Matter Expert) ran a great workshop where he taught the fundamentals of heat exchangers and how to interpret performance and control them via live data.

As part of cross-functional training, ran a mock gas plant after several days of training which highlighted what our assets are like - something I don't have direct insight into working in a support function. I'm free to purchase any textbooks I would like or courses I am interested in. We often run lunch & learns for the purpose of cross-functional training.

I'm really impressed with the training opportunities so far. There's a very generous training budget for grads, so I've had the opportunity to go to things like conferences using the training budget. In addition, there's heaps of informal mentoring on a day to day basis, as well as lots of excellent short courses run within the office itself.

Formal training opportunities have not been as readily available due to covid with online options used as supplements. On-the-job learning has been the best way I've developed my skillset with plenty of technical experience to learn from and support you.

Quality varies between trainings - some of them are fantastic, some of them are boring/uninformative.

large training budget to access as a graduate ~$25Kpa per student.

Training is endless! I don't have enough time to go on all the courses I want to do even though 20% of my week is on upskilling
Graduate, Peth - 21 Oct 2021
There are many opportunities to develop skills internally, such as PowerBi help, Python training, and excel skills from subject matter experts. Similarly, Chevron is very supportive of formal training both internally and externally.

Lots of opportunities for soft-skill and technical training in the graduate program. Large budget for training which includes presentation skills, discipline specific technical training etc. We have the option to seek out our own training opportunities that spark out interest.
