Very easy, great recruitment staff

Interview process was good, there was a lengthy gap between submitting my video interview responses and my email asking to arrange an interview.

The interview process was really engaging and actually quite fun. The assessments in comparison to other companies were straight forward and not confusing.

No real issues and I completed mine all virtually

Hiring process was simple, effective and a lot of thought was put into the process to ensure it was as stress free for the candidates as possible

I start as intern, there always have people help and i think my assessments based on my internship.

I was able to meet the partner of the firm and manager on my first meeting. They were really intrigued with my background and likes/dislikes. I could tell they cared about my future at BDO and whether I would be happy working for their department.

The interview process was quite long, however, standard with other audit graduate programs.

The interview process is very simple and straightforward: first, you will receive a call from HR and they will discuss a suitable interview time with you. Afterwards you will have an interview with HR and manager. This is going to ask you about your experience and why you are suitable for this position.

Referred by someone within the firm. Online interview followed by written assessment.

Interview process involved 2 assessments stages; one virtually and the other in person with other successful candidates.

The communication during the recruitment process was always prompt and efficient which ensured you were always aware of the progress of your application. The interview process was also a very pleasant experience and was run smoothly. Everything was well communicated which alleviated the stress/anxiety associated with interviews allowing you to perform well during the interviews.

Video interview, assessment centre, and partner interview.

The interview process was mainly conducted by the department partner. It was a good interview, not cutthroat and felt like they actually were interested in me as a person.

Seamless, and relatively quick.

It was very fast and straight forward.

I went through mine with a Manager and HR, might not be applicable as I was already part of BDO before entering Graduate Program (was part of Sydney BDO).

The interview is okay as the interviewers make you feel at home

The interviewers created a comfortable atmosphere so that the process felt more like a conversation than a job interview. Assessments consisted of a written exam testing basic accounting knowledge and a group presentation.

Very thorough process. Firstly, I had to fill out an application online and attach my CV and transcript. Then I had to undertake various tests (e.g. puzzle based, comprehension, problem solving etc.) before completing a video interview. Then I came to BDO's head office to re-do testing and undertake additional testing (personality, writing skills) before I was interviewed by People & Culture. Lastly, I was interviewed by a Partner of the division and a Manager.

Just basic interview questions, nothing out of the ordinary.

Strong questions, I was lucky enough to be interviewed by partners and directors within the team I work now. They asked strong questions, as did I. Felt like more of a good discussion than anything else.

What I learnt in some of my university courses to see it would relate to their line of work. What value of BDO I liked the most and why.

Questions about culture and experience. Very standardised questions.

Some very straightforward questions, such as: do you have relevant experience in this industry before, your interests and hobbies, why do you think you like this career, etc.

Whether I knew what the R&D tax incentive was What my weaknesses/strengths were Example of a time I demonstrated teamwork/leadership

Questions asked were more directed at getting to know me as an individual and the strengths i could offer to the team.

The group interview was a case study which required the team of applicants to discuss/prioritise a number of clients in consideration of BDO values and business objectives. The individual interview included a variety of questions which allowed the interviewers to learn more about you as an individual and your interests and motivations to work for BDO as a company and the specific team you are applying for.

Describe one moment in my previous job where there were difficulties. Describe a time when team work went wrong and how it was resolved

Variety of questions about my education, work life balance, values/ethics, hobbies and work history.

What do I enjoy doing outside work? Am I capable of working in teams? Do I work well under pressure?

Just have an understanding of the division you are applying for.

Learn about BDO, learn their values, research about your service line and make sure you ask the right questions in the interview.

Be yourself

Don't over prepare and be confident in yourself

Stay calm and be themselves, there is no need to overthink or over prepare for the interview and hiring process.

Try the internship, see if you like this company or not. And give you a door to get in this industry.

Preparing as you would any interview, you never know what will be asked. Also just reading the room and picking up a vibe early, whether that is to be more casual or formal.

practice what you are going to say before the interview and make sure your answers are logical and clear. Also, dress appropriately and remain polite and confident during the interview.

My advice for candidates is to do research on a company and it's values prior to applying or attending an interview to assess whether these values are what you resonate with as an individual. This not only allows you to establish if it is the right fit for you but also makes it easier to feel comfortable with answering behavioural questions as you can easily and confidently incorporate these values into your answers.

Know your personal strengths and try to best showcase them when involved in interviews and other formal discussions.

Be genuine.

People want to work with people they think they would enjoy working with. You can't just be a human computer, you need to have some personality

Be Genuine and prepare examples u have experienced which might be asked. (For example, "How do you encounter a conflict issue with a team member before?")

Come with a clear mind and strong self determination. Knowing what you want and knowing how the business will help with those goals will make answering any questions easier and more convincing

Research the firm, understand the position/functions of the team you are applying for, and be pleasant.

Just be yourself and enjoy the interview as it is a learning process

Know the types of questions interviewers ask, be genuine, and ensure you answer the question with examples from your previous experience

Ensure you have thoroughly researched the company and deliver succinct, articulate answers to questions
