Corporate Social Responsibility at BAE Systems Australia

All I know is that there is projects in place, with myself only seeing the net zero initiative, not to say there isn't more initiatives throughout the company and an opportunity to work on these.

I'm unable to comment, however, my experience would suggest strong commitment.

I haven't worked on any CSR projects.

I did appreciate the internal function fundraiser for Make-A-Wish. Even at a macro level in maritime a commitment to ensure vessels do not cause harm to marine habitat and fauna despite defence being exempt from this stuff. Good on Reconciliation activities and cultural awareness training is first class.

I have spoken about community engagement and various initiatives/events runs by the business.

I think the company is working towards carbon zero by 2030.

I am sure there are plenty of instances where BAE shine in this category. However, the main are that I am aware of is environmentally. BAE is constantly striving to do better when it comes to being environmentally friendly. I have also seen emails come by promoting a few charities and even provide employees some days off days off work each year so they can volunteer. This is more than any other company I have worked for. I have only rated this an 8 because I have not been here long and likely have not been exposed to what else the company provides.

Haven't worked on many social initiatives myself so cannot really speak to their (/lack of) existence. Company works in defence so likely has a controversial social impact depending on your position. Have given a 5/10 - potentially complicated issue

They are good.

STEM outreach programs and Net Zero Emissions goals. I don't have a lot of insight into these programs as I haven't personally engaged with them.

The sustainability programs and community engagement is very good, and highly visible.

Its difficult with the sector that we are in, but in terms of commitment to ourselves and the greater regions of our workplace we are adequate in the sense that we are not causing any issues nor or are we fixing any issues either

This is something I probably cant comment to much on but would trust that the company would be ethical in its operations.

There are opportunities for salaried staff to take volunteering leave, the company also participates and organises activities/programs/drives for a variety of causes.
