Get to where you need to be. Sooner / Tae atu ki te wāhi e hia nei koe. Tere tonu

ANZ’s award-winning graduate programmes are specifically designed to fast-track the career you’ve been working so hard towards. You’ll be in the express lane from day one as every graduate is hand-picked and hired to fill a genuine business need. Then when you cross the finishing line, there will be jobs available for you to consider - along with a healthy “end-of-program” pay rise.

Things move fast at ANZ as we’re doing the important work that only New Zealand’s largest bank with a global network can tackle. But don’t worry, we’re a nice bunch of people so you won’t be expected to have all the answers up front.

Instead, your rotations in different teams will open your eyes to what’s possible at ANZ and what’s the best path for you to take. And the 18 months you spend on the program will be jam packed with learning and networking opportunities to set you up with the contacts, confidence, and expertise to turbo charge your career.

So don’t delay, because our plans are big - and we want you right up front with us!

We have program pathways in a range of our divisions including Marketing.

About the Marketing Graduate Programme / Ngā taipitopito kōrero

Through continuous creativity, innovation, and growth we’re responsible for all brand and marketing initiatives across the New Zealand business. At ANZ we know that the way our customers want us to communicate with them is changing and we are evolving to meet that by building the Marketing function of the future which spans a diverse range of capabilities including:

  • Advertising and communications
  • Brand strategy
  • Sponsorship
  • Research
  • Digital marketing
  • Social media and SEM
  • Product marketing
  • Insights and Analytics
  • Data-driven personalisation
  • Marketing & Advertising Technology (Martech/Adtech)

What makes a good Marketing Graduate?

We are looking for someone who has a passion for marketing and an eagerness to learn. You have a curious mind and are always looking for new and better ways of doing things and connecting with our customers. You are both a creative and critical thinker who can interpret data and numbers and thrives in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

You have strong communication, organisation and time management skills and take a proactive approach to problem-solving. You want to learn about customers’ specific needs and how you can help.

We want people who bring fun and energy to their work – whether it’s in a team environment or contributing as an individual. We are seeking graduates who love new experiences and challenging themselves. Our graduates are passionate about meeting our customers’ needs through creative ideas and deep analysis, whilst also building strong relationships both inside and outside the bank.

Don’t have a Marketing degree? No problem! We are looking for people from a diverse range of academic backgrounds and life experiences. At ANZ, diversity of thinking is just as important as academic grades and achievements.

How does the programme work?

We pride ourselves on giving graduates as much opportunity for growth as we can, and supporting you every step of the way. You will be part of a team where everyone, every day has the opportunity to learn. During your time in the 18-month programme, you’ll rotate around different teams within our key areas of marketing, including some of those listed above.

We’ll try our best to tailor your rotations to suit your interests, so you can get the most out of your grad programme. By the end of your programme, you’ll have a comprehensive view of marketing at ANZ and will understand how various disciplines collaborate to deliver results, so you can kick start your marketing career with us.

I feel extremely lucky to be working with such hardworking people who genuinely want to see me succeed.  ANZ has a great praise culture – we really value calling out those who are doing a fantastic job (and who doesn’t like being appreciated for the work that you do?!)

I love that working in Marketing can also mean collaborating with other agencies where you are exposed to new creative and insightful practices. Plus, the occasional working long lunch is always nice.
